Characterising himself as a ‘director of traffic’, he’s adept at providing external CFO facilities for businesses large and small – including planning for their future and being a sounding board for ideas. Mark’s undoubtedly a results-driven goal setter, but he also believes that the most valuable part of our work can’t be tallied – the building and maintenance of close relationships that deliver exceptional outcomes. Not unexpectedly then, his key motivator is ensuring his clients achieve their goals. He digs deep to find ways to maximise their wealth through better business practices and is a firm believer in not over complicating things. Mark’s not just a part of Ulton – he’s also intent on being part of a bigger business picture, outside Ulton. His canny eye for opportunities and can-do attitude has repeatedly been tested and proven on large scale business resurrections, including the Bundaberg Racecourse, where Mark’s hands-on approach secured the club’s future.

Having been with Ulton since graduating university and as one of only two Senior Partners, Mark’s a pivotal leader in the administration of the firm. He’s also been responsible for expanding the firm’s geographic client base across Queensland and the creation of Furlong Financial – a dedicated bookkeeping service for the thoroughbred horse racing industry. He’s a savvy businessman who gets deeply involved in his clients’ businesses and closely reviews their performance on a regular basis, to help identify opportunities for greater profitability.
