For small and family businesses in Queensland, the impact of extreme weather events can be devastating. If your business has been affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred or flooding in Western Queensland, there is financial support available to help you recover and rebuild.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred Disaster Recovery Grants

Disaster recovery grants of up to $25,000 are now available to eligible small and family businesses in 16 local government areas. These grants can assist with essential recovery costs such as:

✔ Debris removal
✔ Replacing damaged equipment
✔ Building repairs
✔ Safety inspections
✔ Restocking and replanting

For rural landholders or lessees of at least 10 hectares who sustained direct damage but do not qualify for other Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) primary producer assistance, grants of up to $10,000 are also available.

Eligible small and family businesses, non-profit organisations, and primary producers can also apply for:

  • Disaster Assistance Loans – Up to $250,000 to help small businesses and primary producers with essential recovery efforts.Essential Working
  • Capital Loans – Up to $100,000 to assist with immediate operational costs, including wages, rent, and creditor payments.

These grants and loans are available in the following local government areas:

  • Brisbane City Council
  • Bundaberg Regional Council
  • Fraser Coast Regional Council
  • Gold Coast City Council
  • Gympie Regional Council
  • Ipswich City Council
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Logan City Council
  • Moreton Bay City Council
  • Noosa Shire Council
  • Redland City Council
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Somerset Regional Council
  • Southern Downs Regional Council
  • Sunshine Coast Regional Council
  • Toowoomba Regional Council

Western Queensland Rainfall and Flooding Recovery Loans

In addition to the disaster recovery grants for Cyclone Alfred-affected areas, financial assistance is now available for small and family businesses impacted by flooding in Western Queensland.

Disaster Assistance Loans and Essential Working Capital Loans have been activated for businesses in the following local government areas:

  • Barcoo Shire Council
  • Boulia Shire Council
  • Bulloo Shire Council
  • Diamantina Shire Council
  • Longreach Regional Council
  • Murweh Shire Council
  • Paroo Shire Council
  • Quilpie Shire Council
  • Winton Shire Council

These loans are designed to support small businesses to re-establish operations, including:

✔ Repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment
✔ Repairing or replacing buildings
✔ Restocking inventory to resume operations

Eligible small and family businesses, non-profit organisations, and primary producers can also apply for:

  • Disaster Assistance Loans – Up to $250,000 to support essential recovery efforts.
  • Essential Working Capital Loans – Up to $100,000 to assist with immediate operational costs, including wages, rent, and creditor payments.
