Respect @ Work

Foster a respectful workplace culture

Location: Webinar

Attention all SME business owners, managers and HR managers!

Join us for a live webinar on "Respect @ Work" hosted by Christine Guy, Ulton HR Consultant. This webinar is specifically designed for business owners, managers and HR personnel who have a legal responsibility to ensure the health and safety of their employees and workers, including contractors, consultants, and volunteers.

This seminar is designed to provide you with an understanding of the changes in our workplace sexual harassment and sex discrimination laws and what you need to do to ensure compliance.

The recent amendments passed by parliament on 28 November 2022 to the Sexual Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth), Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986 (Cth), and Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) require business owners and management to change their approach from “reactive” to pro-active” to eliminate sexual harassment, sex discrimination and victimisation in the workplace.

We’ll also talk about managing psychosocial hazards at work under the Work Health and Safety Queensland, code of practice that commenced on 1 April 2023.

Topics covered in the webinar.

  • The Law – Background briefing

  • Prohibition of sexual harassment

  • An employer’s positive duty

  • Anti-discrimination – ‘new protected attributes’

  • Potential consequences of non-compliance with the Law

  • Hot topic - Psychosocial risk management

  • An employer’s pathway to compliance

This is an essential webinar for every business owner who wants to understand their obligations and ensure compliance with recent changes to the workplace sexual harassment and sex discrimination laws.
