Two students from Bundaberg's Shalom College have outshone their peers and secured valuable paid work experience as part of Ulton's vacation program.

The successful applicants, Emily Smith and Kelvin Pimm, both in grade 12, will commence their two-week, full-time placement during the school holidays from 18 September.

Ulton Human Resources Manager, Ammie Cauchi, interviewed seven shortlisted candidates:  four from Shalom College, two Bundaberg Christian College students and one Bundaberg High student. All of the applications were very well written, demonstrating a high level of maturity and real commitment to securing a position.

Over the course of their placement, Emily and Kelvin will experience first-hand what it would be like to start their career in a leading professional services firm.  They will be exposed to real projects across a variety of Ulton’s service areas. The rotation will include experiencing life as a Trainee Accountant, observing observe highly technical advisory work being undertaken, and understanding how Ulton's administrative personnel bring the big picture together.

Emily and Kelvin will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent full-time, accounting traineeship at Ulton commencing in 2018.
