Daryl Corpe FCA

Daryl Corpe joined the firm in 1984 and became a Partner soon after in 1986.  Daryl's grounding was predominately in the areas of tax consulting, tax advice and audit services, though more recently he has specialised in the area of corporate consulting, including business acquisitions and valuations, corporate restructuring, finance and financial modelling.  These skills along with his formal qualifications are drawn upon when attending board meetings for various private companies.

Daryl's formal qualifications are extensive and include:

• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) - Queensland University of Technology
• Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
• Registered Company Auditor

As a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants , Daryl is heavily involved in the Institute and fills the position of Chairman of the National Financial Planning Committee for the ICAA.

Daryl oversees the running of the Audit and Technology divisions as well as the Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Gladstone business teams.

Mark McLean CA

Mark McLean joined Ulton as a Graduate Accountant in 1990 after graduating from the Queensland University of Technology.  He progressed through the firm to become a Manager then became a Chartered Accountant in 1997.  Mark made further progression through the firm in 1998, becoming a Partner. 

Mark's grounding was in the area of Business Services, undertaking responsibilities including forward projections, tax planning and general business advice for clients.  More recently Mark has been involved in business valuations, business development and financial modelling.

Marks professional qualifications and memberships include:

• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) - Queensland University of Technology
• Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
• Certificate of Public Practice

Mark is a pivotal leader in the administration of the firm and oversees the running of the Business Services division teams within the firm.  Mark has also been responsible for the firm’s expanded geographic client base in Central Queensland and other areas.

Jamie Rach CA

Jamie commenced with the firm in January 1992 studying part-time towards a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree through the University of Southern Queensland , graduating in 2000.  During his time at Ulton, Jamie has worked in the Business Services division being promoted to a Manager in 1999.  In 2003, Jamie completed the CA Program and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants .  After fourteen (14) years with the firm Jamie was promoted to Partner.

Jamie specialises in small business and taxation advice as well as management accounting.  Jamie’s formal qualifications and memberships include:

• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) – University of Southern Queensland
• Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants

Jamie is also responsible for a large number of clients in the Central Queensland and Burnett Hinterland regions.

Janelle Shaw FPNA

Janelle Shaw boasts many years of experience (over eighteen years with Ulton) providing corporate services to a wide range of clients, including prominent local companies and businesses. Janelle manages our Maryborough team, but provides an invaluable contribution to the entire firm.

Janelle specialises in the fields of business development, creating innovative & effective financial strategies and planning for wealth creation, as well as information technology, superannuation planning and risk management.

Janelle has resided in Maryborough her entire life and through this has established many local contacts in the community, especially the business sector. Janelle became a Partner of the firm in August 2006.

Janelle's formal qualifications and memberships include:

Bernard Whebell CA

Bernard Whebell joined the firm in 1994 and completed his Professional Year studies in 1997 to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He progressed through the firm to become Manager of the Audit division in 1999, and then Partner in August 2006.

Bernard brings to Ulton broad experience in a wide cross section of industries, having worked in both government and the private sector.

Bernard's formal qualifications and memberships include:

Bernard's areas of interest include corporate services, fraud control and detection and the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures.

Kylie McIntosh CFP

Kylie McIntosh has been in the Financial Planning industry since 1996. She joined Ulton in 1999 and became a Partner in the business in 2006. Kylie is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), who specialises in Estate Planning, Salary Packaging, Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) strategies as well as general financial planning and life insurance.

Kylie's formal qualifications and memberships include:

Kylie is responsible for providing financial planning products and services to Ulton clients in a range of geographical areas including Bundaberg, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Gladstone, Emerald, Kingaroy and Gayndah.

Karl Brosnan

Karl Brosnan has been at ABN AMRO Morgans Bundaberg for four years and became a partner of the Ulton Group in 2007. His background includes several years working in Investment Management in the United Kingdom (London).

Karl has completed a Bachelor of Business concentrating on Economics and Marketing. He was granted a Scholarship to study in the Netherlands, where he concentrated on International Economics and Financial Markets. Karl's formal qualifications include:

• An Investment Qualification through the Securities Institute of the United Kingdom
• A Graduate Diploma through the Securities Institute of Australia.

Karl has extensive knowledge in the field of stockbroking and is a valuable addition to Ulton and our clients.

Jason Krenske CA

Jason Krenske commenced with the firm in April 1995, and became a Chartered Accountant in 1999. His experience with the firm was primarily in the Audit and Business Services division focusing on information systems until travelling overseas in March 2001. Whilst overseas, Jason gained valuable financial management and financial modelling experience in local government which now comprises a major part of his role with the firm as he manages our Audit, Superannuation and Business Development teams. Jason became Partner in August 2008.

John Philps CA

John Philps joined Ulton in 2006 after working with a chartered accounting firm in Rockhampton for over six years. Prior to that time he was employed with the Commonwealth Bank, predominantly in the field of commercial lending. John is a graduate of the University of Queensland and University of Central Queensland and he is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In addition to managing our Gladstone team, John specialises in providing small business and taxation advice. John became Partner in August 2008.
