Three students from Ulton’s vacation program have secured full-time permanent traineeships commencing with Ulton in the New Year.

Christy Lam, Corey Murray and Kelvin Pimm were amongst six students that were placed in Ulton’s vacation program over the September holiday’s, and have now secured permanent employment with the firm in 2018.

Students gained a unique, first-hand, hands-on experience, by working along-side Ulton’s Accountants and Business Advisors, to give them a taste of a career in a leading professional services firm.

Ulton Human Resources Manager, Ammie Cauchi said the conversion rate of the Ulton vacation program was outstanding, resulting in a 100% hire rate on 2018 traineeship applications.

"All students performed extremely well, were very engaged and acted professionally. We were also thrilled to hear the students enjoyed their time with Ulton and would recommend the program to others”, said Mrs Cauchi.

Christy, Corey and Kelvin will be working in Trainee Accountant positions in Ulton’s Audit, Strategy and Bookkeeping teams respectively.

Student feedback and suggestions highlighted that Ulton has a welcoming environment, challenging and diverse work projects and excellent mentor guidance.

"We want to get students excited about accounting and business-related careers early. So watch this space, because in the new year, we will be expanding our student engagement strategy to include year 10 and 11 students from the greater Bundaberg Region.’ said Mrs Cauchi.

Applications for the next intake of students for the Ulton Vacation Program will open in July 2018.
